It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mr T & C Yumbulul.

Mr T Yumbulul was a respected Yolŋu elder and Traditional Owner of the English Company and Wessel islands in North East Arnhem Land, including the Bromby islands and the land on which Banubanu Beach Retreat stands. We are deeply grateful for the privilege of welcoming guests to his Country, and for the generosity, knowledge and care he and his wife shared with us. They particularly provided invaluable support and guidance to Fulvio and Eileen since their move to the region and they will be missed by us all.

Our heartfelt condolences go to their family, their community and all who loved them. We will continue to honour their memory and their connection to this land and sea.

Over 10 bags of rubbish (plus plenty of ropes and marine debris) were collected, helping keep this special place beautiful for everyone.

As a small thank you, they earned themselves $25 in bar credit for every bag collected… well deserved! 🍻

And of course, Kramer was there to supervise the whole operation. 🐾
